Fantastic upbeat Greek Folk Band, 'Plastikes Karekles' toyed with the idea of how ideal it would be to play, and sing ones way through life with one's closest friends…somewhere along the way it happened and that is how they are playing together now.

Encompassing traditions from all over Greece including the Greek Rebetiko (often described as the Greek Blues) and island music, this will be a rare treat that we will patiently await with eager anticipation...

“Plastikes Karekles wowed a captivated audience…they had people dancing in the aisles and evoked memories of sunnier climes…” Nottingham Press

Since forming the band 'Plastic Chairs' as translated into English, these quirky and incredibly talented musicians,  regularly perform in different combinations and have taken part in numerous festivals, including Henley, Chelsea, Venice and Welsh Proms. They regularly perform at the Hellenic Centre, the V&A museum and the Royal Albert Hall’s Consort CafĂ© and have played on London Greek Radio, live radio in Greece and for the BBC. Other venues have included the Komedia Theatre in Brighton, St. David's Hall and the Millennium Centre in Cardiff and the Purcell Room in London.

“Despite our members being over the age of 75 and visually impaired, this did not stop them dancing!” Beckenham Social Club for the Blind
