MUSIC NOT ONLY RAISED THE ROOF BUT RAISED FUNDS

The Soul Katz and Gran Cassa provided a stunning performance at their hastily arranged concert last Friday at Clair Hall and managed to raise £2001 for the Haiti Earthquake appeal. With It’s Magic organising the event and Freedom Leisure providing Clair Hall, the money raised by the sale of the 236 tickets and the raffle will go to the appeal.
Tim French said in the four days it took to organise the concert he was amazed by the generosity of people, in particular the sound engineers, lighting staff, design company, security, local businesses providing prizes for the raffle and the It’s Magic volunteers who helped to ensure the night went smoothly.
The money raised will be split between the DEC Haiti Earthquake appeal and Rotary ShelterBoxes scheme who have already sent out to Haiti 7,000 shelterboxes providing homes for more than 700,000 Haitians.
The people of Mid Sussex turned out at short notice and not only was money raised but everyone had a fantastic evening dancing to the amazing music of the two bands who generously donated their time free of charge.

Thanks to Wisdom Sports, Co-op, De-Novo Florist, Surf Girl, Finishing Touch, Clarkes Stationers; Baldwins; Batchellor Thacker; Charlwood Designs; David Smith Jeweller for providing raffle prizes.
