Thank you for a magical summers evening to remember

Crowd at Katherine Jenkins Concert

If you were lucky enough to have been at this spectacular LIVE event, you will remember being witness to a truly magical summers evening alongside over 4000 locals. The event was a huge success, with locals demonstrating a real sense for community spirit in support for ‘The Ashenground Community Centre Fund.’ High profile performers included the internationally known welsh soprano Katherine Jenkins who was joined by the dashing Tenor Nicholas Ransley and accompanied by our very own Sussex gem The Sussex Symphony Orchestra who were conducted by Andrew Sutton.

Katherine Jenkins

As Katherine began to sing, and as if suspended in time, the audience refrained from sipping their champagne and stopped munching on their picnics. A silent hush fell across the park as the visually stunning soprano managed to awe inspire the crowd with a beautiful selection of songs. There was something for everybody including ‘L’Amore Sei Tu’ (I will always love you), ‘Music of the Night’ and ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’. Gifted both vocally and visually, she wore sparkling and shimmering evening gowns to compliment her magnificent voice. A real treat for the appreciative local crowd.Nicholas Ransley

Nicholas Ransleys’ stage presence was a well suited match for Katherine. Outstanding performances included ‘O Solo Mio’ and ‘Nessun Dorma’, melting the female hearts and leaving the crowd chanting for more. Let's hope we wont have to wait too long to see Nicholas back in the park where he gave a truely stunning performance. The crowd will be eagerly awaiting his return...so watch this space!

Shine Theatre Group

Also performing with Katherine in what was a delightful treat were ‘The Shine Theatre Group’ children who sang ‘You’ll never Walk Alone’. Joined on stage by soprano Vanessa Woodfine for a very cute rendition of ‘Do Re Mi’ their bright shiny smiles, perfect little voices, frilly costumes and rosie cheeks made this part of the show both cheerful and cheeky warming everyone’s hearts.

Charity concerts for the community to benefit the community

£21,000 raised from concert

The concert was created by Mr Tim French, Chairman for its magic in support of the local community centre in the Ashenground area of Haywards Heath. All cleared profits have gone to building the  centre which was over £600,000. The Ashenground stall made £1000 selling bricks at their ‘buy a brick’ stall during the concert.
