Lesley Garrett is one of the biggest names in opera within the UK.  Not only has she sung with the English National Opera for two decades but she has performed solo concerts around the world and appeared on many television shows.
Now she is coming to the Victoria Park to perform a programme of romantic operatic and classical music.
She will be accompanied by renowned tenor Nicholas Ransley. The performance will be conducted by MarkAndrew James with the Sussex Symphony Orchestra with guest conductor Paul Bateman.
For years Lesley Garrett has been one of the most successful sopranos in the world!
Lesley Garrett is a phenomenon. There’s no one else who delivers a solo concert with something of the music hall and the opera house all in one.  And she can work a crowd. She bubbles, she effervesces, and she chats with her audience like old friends.
As a recording artist, Lesley has released 13 solo albums, all receiving either silver or gold discs. Her television credits include ‘The Lesley Garrett Show’, ‘Lesley Garrett Tonight’, ‘Viva La Diva’ and ‘The Lily Savage Show’. Lesley was also the subject of ‘The South Bank Show’, reached the semi-finals of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and is a regular weekly guest on ‘Loose Women’.
Her opera credits include many critically acclaimed roles for the English National Opera and ‘The Merry Widow’ at the Royal Opera House and which toured the UK in 2005 to great acclaim. She also played the role of Mother Abbess in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s revival of ‘The Sound of Music’ at the Palladium and as ‘Nettie’ in ‘Carousel’ at the Savoy Theatre.
Join us for a cultural evening with incredible stars, superb symphony orchestra, flag-waving ‘Last Night of the Proms’ favourites – could there be a finer way to spend a summer’s evening than this?
