An exciting programme of popular songs by great song writers through the ages. Join international star Jo Appleby, Cornish sensation Peter Ferris accompanied by pianist Murray Hipkin for an evening of romantic favorites from Lehar to Lloyd Webber, Puccini to Porter. 
Soprano Jo Appleby, who has wowed audiences from Glyndebourne to Glastonbury with her outstanding performances, is looking forward to an intimate evening performing great classics from opera and musical theatre. Accompanying her tenor Peter Ferris a trained opera singer, has performed many roles at Glyndebourne and toured in recent years with the Glyndebourne on Tour is delighted with the choice of songs from such composers as Donizetti, Ivor Novello, Cole Porter, Noel Coward, Rodgers and Hammerstein.  Pianist Murray Hipkin appears by kind persmission of the English National Opera as he is currently working on the Pearlfishers. 
A sparkling evening of love explored through great song writers will be an exciting Spring treat. The concert will be held at the Church of the Ascension, Vale Road, Haywards Heath and is raising funds for the Ashenground Community Centre which opened its doors in September 2007. The centre is a valuable asset to the local residents and provides a wide range of activities and clubs for all ages and interests in the community.
