The first of it's kind in The Broadway this unique event was promoted and organised
by Tim French & It's Magic...
Two stages, a handful of key volunteers, and the support of local businesses including the main bars and restaurants; Orange Square,Evolution, Savannahs and Café Rouge made for a hugely successful musical day attended by over 5000 locals basking in the sun whilst listening to outstanding musical talent with local bands really entertaining the crowds.
The first event of it's kind, proved the town of Haywards Heath is full of life. 'Pheonix Four' set the pace with an energetic performance followed by 'Act Too' who kept the energy running high before switching to the south stage where the voice of local soul singer Cylvian of 'Soul Business' entertained the growing crowds. The entertainment was non stop from Blues to Brass(Blues Business & Uckfield Concert Brass), 'Uckfield Show Band' and 'Borderline Jazz Band' Vocalists included Jodie Spencer, Chenelle Mulvaney and 'Opera Magic' featured Pamela Wilcock and friends. There really was something for everyone including audience participation to 'Wilbury Jam' and 'White Light' performing songs to get everyone up on their feet. 'Boogie Wonderland' topped off the evening on the North Stage when everyone was compelled to dance in the street.
" Sunday night in Haywards Heath was certainly a magic night. Making Waves on Broadway was brilliant. Everyone I know hasn't stopped talking about the event. There was music for all ages and tastes. Places to sit and watch. Space to dance. This was the event that the town has been waiting for. At a sensible price !!!! We need this kind of event on a regular basis." Local resident, 28 Aug 2007
