2nd floor Big band of the Traunstein Music School
led by Georg Holzner
The band consists of 20 musicians and is a part of the music school Traunstein.
Apart from 1940’s swing (Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington...) the repertoire ranges from Jazz to Funk, as well as Rock, covering the whole spectrum of the Big band sound. 2nd floor Big band and it’s bandleader Georg Holzner are a vital part of Traunstein’s cultural scene. In the past they have worked with internationally acclaimed artists such as Bobby Shew.
All of the band members work in different professional fields and they all have on thing in common – their love for the immortal sound of the Big band era and they play Jazz brunch-concerts as well as official receptions, held by the city of Traunstein.
One of their big yearly shows is the Stadtfest Traunstein where they play for big crowds of listeners of all ages. They often incorporate soloists and vocalists in their programme.
