Haywards Heath Foodbank

It’s Magic have invited Haywards Heath Foodbank to be part of the forthcoming Marking Waves on Broadway on Sunday 25 August 11am – 10pm in The Broadway Haywards Heath.  They will be setting up a stand inThe Broadway to received food from music lovers to the event.  Tim French said ‘this is very much a community event so it will be amazing to be able to help others less fortunate than ourselves’.

The Haywards Heath Foodbank has been open for nearly 18 months and has given over 6.5 tonnes of food to more than 1,300 local people who have been in an emergency or crisis situation. The food is donated by local people at supermarket collections and by churches and individuals. The care professionals and statutory organisations in our town issue the food vouchers to people they meet who are in crisis. The 80+ volunteers sort and store the food in a warehouse and give out the food in a cafe-like distribution centre.

If you are coming to Making Waves on Broadway then please give generously to the Haywards Heath Foodbank .  The food they give out is non-perishable and the organisation says the following foods are currently in short supply: biscuits (300g), cereal (500g), coffee, tinned fish, mashed potatoes, tinned meat, pasta (500g), rice pudding, sauces, sponge puddings and tinned tomatoes.  Come and enjoy yourself at the event and at the same time help others.
